Join the Fabulous Philadelphians and say farewell to 2017 in the city’s best New Year’s Eve celebration!
The Orchestra has returned to the tranquility of the Saratoga Spa State Park and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for its annual three-week residency, which began last week and runs through August 19. In the remaining two weeks Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin shares the podium with Marin Alsop, Bramwell Tovey, Steven Reineke, and David Newman. Programming includes festivals of American and French music, a Night at the Opera, and a showing of the film Raiders of the Lost Ark with the soundtrack performed live by the Orchestra. Such celebrated guest artists as cellist Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Louis Lortie, the Marcus Roberts Trio, tenor Matthew Polenzani, and the Orchestra’s principal percussion, Christopher Deviney, performing his own arrangement of three works by Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays, join the Orchestra for what are sure to be superb concerts.
