The Philadelphia Orchestra Volunteers, Board, and Musicians

invite you to join them at the celebration of the Orchestra's 120th season at the

Opening Night Concert and Gala 2019
Wenesday, September 18, 2019
The Kimmel Center for Performing Arts

Our acclaimed music director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, will launch his eighth season leading your Orchestra at our Opening Night event, kicking off our city’s cultural season. Joining Yanick and the Orchestra as a very special guest soloist will be world-renowned tenor and conductor Plácido Domingo.

Plácido Domingo is a paragon of the opera world, continuing to add roles to his repertoire while amassing raves and standing ovations all across the globe. The legendary Spanish opera superstar joins Yannick and our Fabulous Philadelphians, performing beloved highlights of Italian grand opera.

Opening Night Co-Chairs Richelle Rabenou, Yumi Kendall (assistant principal cello), and Peter Shaw, along with Volunteer Association President Nancy Galloway, Board Chairman Richard Worley, and the Opening Night Gala Committee look forward to welcoming you to this special evening, featuring great music, high couture and black tie, and delicious food and champagne with Philadelphia’s cultural leaders and arts patrons.
