Philadelphia Orchestra musicians gave master classes today at both the Jerusalem Music Centre and the Jerusalem Conservatory Hassadna. There was also a panel discussion on cultural diplomacy and the final full Orchestra concert of the tour.

There were a number of residency activities today: a side-by-side concert with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic and numerous master classes, both involving the participation of students from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.Founded in 2005 as a unique partnership between Tel Aviv University and the Israel Philharmonic, the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music trains outstanding young musicians and prepares them for professional careers.
It was a busy few days with a delayed flight from Vienna to Tel Aviv, a welcome party upon arrival in Israel, a residency activity at Oasis of Peace, and the first concert of this leg of the tour, in Haifa.

I awoke this morning in Paris at 6:20 AM to my daughter Victoria, age seven, asking if it was time to get up yet! My daughter has accompanied me and my husband (Ricardo Morales, principal clarinet) on every Philadelphia Orchestra concert tour since she was one year old so she is already a "pro" at touring.
