Morning Musicales, presented by the West Philadelphia Volunteer Committee, were inaugurated in 1962 and have continued since then without interruption. Inspired by the late Mrs. Frederick T. van Urk, Morning Musicales provide an opportunity for excellent young performers to appear before discriminating audiences with the possibility of review by professional music critics. The series also helps to provide funds to support projects associated with The Philadelphia Orchestra.
